AUTHOR’S NOTE
The English language has a term to describe the uprooting of trees by the wind: windthrow.
Wood, vegetable matter, torn from the earth by inanimate atmospheric forces; this is the image that came to mind when I thought of the string trio in relation to live electronics. Two different entities yet capable of producing a soundscape that is both bizarre and fascinating.
The wood, from which the instrument bodies are made, interacts with the wind, just as the acoustic instruments resonate along with the relentless flow of the electronics.
